World of Warcraft: Forever Stress Test Opens Servers to All Players on October 19
IRVINE, Calif. — Blizzard Entertainment today announced that World of Warcraft: Forever will hold a global stress test on October 19, inviting all players to participate at no cost. The test requires no subscription, game time, invitation, or beta access.
The stress test begins at 2:00 p.m. PDT in North America, 19:00 CEST in Europe, and 05:00 CST in Taiwan on October 20. Players can join by opening the Battle.net desktop app, selecting World of Warcraft: Forever Stress Test from the Game Version menu, and installing the client.
The beta has already surpassed one million characters created, according to community tracker classicplus.io. The game features a level cap locked at 60, over 1,000 new quests, four new zones, nine dungeons, two raids, and a new playable race called the Skyborne.
Blizzard also confirmed that character name reservations open on October 27 for pre-purchase holders, with the global launch set for November 4. The stress test's characters will be wiped afterward.
“Nobody really knows how many players will flood into WoW: Forever when it officially launches,” one community analyst noted. “It's much better to discover server bottlenecks now”.
World of Warcraft: Forever launches worldwide on November 4, 2026, and is included with an active World of Warcraft subscription.
